What is Anxiety?
- sitting an exam
- going into hospital
- attending an interview
- starting a new job
- moving away from home
- having a baby
- being diagnosed with an illness
- deciding to get married or divorced.
In situations like these, it’s understandable to have worries about how you will perform, or what the outcome will be.
Anxiety - How Hypnotherapy Helps
When you have something in your life that makes you feel anxious it can be all too easy to avoid it in an attempt to free yourself from the anxiety that it causes you. Whilst this is a completely understandable way forward, it only causes you to develop a greater level of anxiety when faced with your trigger. My goal is to show you how person centred hypnotherapy can help you address these feelings and sensations the natural way.
What Happens When I’m Anxious?
When you get anxious you will experience a number of physical symptoms alongside the underlying feeling of anxiety. These could include anything from higher blood pressure and a faster heartbeat, to an unsettled stomach and shortness of breath. The secret is to remember that all of these physical sensations come about as a result of how your mind is working. All we then need to do is come up with a personal approach that allows you to get back to a calmer place where you feel at peace and at ease.
A Personal Journey
As an experienced hypnotherapist I’ve worked with people who suffer from every form of anxiety. I understand that everyone is different and we each have our own triggers that can set off feelings of intense anxiety. What may be a crisis to one person wouldn’t even register with someone else, and vice versa. We should embrace what makes us who we are and find ways to stay calm when we need a little extra helping hand.
Your Calm Place
Hypnotherapy is all about allowing you to stay calm in the moment, so that when you’re faced with what makes you anxious you have the tools you need to get through it. It’s a journey that we’ll walk together, and one that you’ll get better and better at with practice and perseverance. We’ll work on being able to clearly visualise and imagine what makes you anxious whilst achieving a deep and reassuring sense of calm. This will allow you to let what makes you anxious simply wash over you when you come face to face with it.
First Steps
In our first session I’ll welcome you through the door and provide an empathetic and unconditionally positive environment in which you can ask anything that’s on your mind. From there we’ll take the first steps towards conquering your anxiety so that you can live the calm and happy life we all deserve.
