Relationships

How Hypnotherapy Helps

Every relationship goes through spells when you feel like it is hard to keep your calm and difficult to always have a smile on your face. There are also times when relationships come to an end and they can be some of the most difficult times to work through. These are both natural things, but that doesn’t make them any easier. The secret is to develop personal coping strategies that allow you to stay calm and keep doing the things that will make you feel like your old self again sooner rather than later.

Why Am I Struggling?

Relationships can put a real strain on all of us when they come to an end, and there’s no shame in admitting that to ourselves. Disconnecting from your partner can be so tough because they will have typically been the one person you confided in and leant on when you needed to. Without them in your life you may feel more vulnerable or helpless than you have in years. This is perfectly natural but it doesn’t mean you have to accept it.

Moving Forwards

Moving forwards is not simply a case of blocking everything out so that you feel nothing. This may make you appear like you’re coping admirably on the surface, but it merely delays the grieving process and prolongs your period of disconnection. What’s important is to acknowledge how you feel, how you want to feel, and how the events that have transpired have impacted on your life. Only when you start an honest dialogue with yourself can you begin to move forward.

Creating Your Own Sense of Calm

Staying calm may be one of the furthest things from your mind whilst you’re going through a break up or divorce, but it really is the secret to rediscovering the real you. By staying calm you’ll be able to see that you have more options in life than you think, you’ll be able to keep a sense of perspective, and you’re far more likely to make the sensible decisions that will aid the healing process.

First Steps

In our first session I provide an unconditionally positive environment in which you can get anything and everything off your chest. There are no judgements here, only a listening ear that cares about you and your story. Once we establish a dialogue we’ll begin to develop the personal tool kit that will enable you to employ the coping mechanisms that you need to move forward.
